As far as mesmers go in pve I don;'t know how well AI handles hexes but backfire and visions of regret damage and shatter hex damage is pretty significant. Especially vs lvl 28 high armor targets that are resistant to clasic nukes.
Problem being, AI is smart vs Backfire-ish spells and won't kill themselves through it. :\

And those spells have long recharges for pve...making their uses limited.

it's not that smart, I've killed quite a few spell casting mobs with my monk and a backfire.

AFAIK they won't ever willingly kill themselves with Backfire or Spoil Victor etc any more, the killing blow probably came from another source.

That's not exactly true. Monk types generally stop casting, but other casters don't. (That ele boss in the Raisu Palace mission? Dumbest dragon ever!)

I have now played since the update and actually like ALL the changes. I have no problem with where the arrows are located for attribute points, i cant see what all the fuss is about.

Good job all around.

If i did have to say anything, it would be to agree that the pop-up of skills over the saved templates names is a little annoying.

Well done ANet

I am glad the whole Hard Mission, Prot of X counting to Koabd Title has been solved. /Phew
Now it would be nice to have the Guardian of X as a seperate Title track unlocked after getting Prot of X, which counts towards Koabd.
I know that most of us would want to do all those missions on hard on that condition, which in return will get people to revisit and croud missions which are empty now.
Personally not gonna bother getting the title if it doesn't count towards Koabd. Rather flash my Koabd, then Guardian title. Just my 2 cents

It's also funny how many boss skills cannot be blacked out or diverted. Isn't boss shutdown something a mesmer should be able to do? Sort of pays for carrying the Purple Bar Person through all the other mobs on which he/she has comparably little effect other than to attract the unwanted attention associated with 60AL armor.

Just my opinion as you are entilted to yours.

The planned update with muted sounds in towns and non-muted outside is a nice resolve. Looking forward to hearing Kunna roar again (just not 20 at once )

Woo!

I just read through one of the latest Gaile Gray chat logs, and in it she says that she hasn't yet got any news on "the improvements to ranger bow skills".

Now, I could be reading way too much into this, but the word used is "improvements", not changes, or modifications :-))

I am quite excited about this now. When I first read about "changes" to ranger bow skills, my first reaction was "Oh no..more nerfs", but now I am looking forward to seeing what these improvements may be!

Hmmm....a pet update. Good timing Anet we've just been asking that since the first beta.

I would impose a 3 man limit on 1 type of class in each party. Anet is going to keep running into balance issues from certain classes if they don't.

I'm all for this, but I think people will be crying and complaining over this. I remember they implemented this for Enemy Territory Team Fortress, but that community had a lot less whiners than GW.. so I guess it worked there. But with this community, people will probably commit GW suicide over it.

Good. The game environment could do with less of those people. The game needs creativity and diversity, not a 6-rit spike team holding halls after beating another 6-rit spike team and an 8-paragon team over and over and over again.

Just resize the windows. I love this feature, it's fabulous!

I've heard suggestions that different User Interface additions be given to different classes in PVE.
A necromance would have 1 for keeping track and targeting minions in PVE.
A ritualist would have 1 also for their spirits.

Maybe a mesmer can have a PVE window that shows enemies and their warmup bars for skills being used to see the flow of battle easier. Mesmers can make a big difference with that kind of sight!

Gaile, full screen mode seems to be repaired - no more blur in inventory

But in window mode icons are still blurry for me. Any solutions?

Edit: my friend told me that his icons representing armor disappear... hmm...
Also, when u click on ident kit or salvage kit and hover mouse cursor over icons - they seems disappear for a second and then appear again.. weird.

Edit2: Hmm.. blur in window mode maybe was also before, so - nevermind I think

Dark Emissary suggested that some Mantras be tweaked and changed to shouts, or even chants. Mesmers already have stance and enchantment Mantras, but a mantra is defined as a chant and it would be fitting to change some to a chant or shout, allowing it to affect party members within earshot. It would make Inspiration Mesmers very useful to PvE groups and my Mesmer would probably get into Domain of Anguish groups!

I hope some of these suggestions are good ones. I think that the easiest way to give Mesmers better PvE options is to just tweak the inspiration line to offer group support options, but make it only really viable to a primary Mesmer by increasing the tweaked skills' scaling so that it's only effective at high levels. Most people who play a Mesmer only see inspiration as an e-management option for themselves and many choose e-management from their secondary instead!
